One Person Lost Their Life in a Knife Fight Between Friends in Arnavutköy, İstanbul

In a bitter incident that occurred in the Atatürk Neighborhood of İstanbul's Arnavutköy district, an argument that broke out between friends ended in blood. Allegedly, a disagreement arose for an unknown reason between Ahmet Keleş and his friends named K.D., F.K., and E.B. Initially continuing only verbally, this argument rapidly escalated into an incredible fight. After the fight grew, in the moments when the incident got out of control, F.K. drew a knife he was carrying and brutally injured Ahmet Keleş. Upon nearby citizens immediately reporting the situation to the authorities, both medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

The medical teams, who quickly arrived at the scene, performed their first interventions flawlessly on Ahmet Keleş, who was found lying on the ground with severe injuries. Stating that the injured person was in a life-threatening condition, the doctors took Keleş to Arnavutköy Devlet Hastanesi without wasting any time. At the moments when all medical facilities were mobilized at the hospital, expert doctors made every effort to keep Ahmet Keleş alive. Unfortunately, the severe injuries sustained in Keleş's body made it impossible to save him. Despite all interventions, the young man who tragically lost his life had his body taken to the hospital morgue for a prosecutorial examination.

Immediately initiating an investigation after the incident, the teams of the Arnavutköy İlçe Emniyet Müdürlüğü Asayiş Büro Amirliği organized a large-scale operation to apprehend the suspects. Thanks to the meticulous work of the police, all the suspects involved in the fight and attempting to quickly flee the area where the incident occurred were detained in a short time. K.D., F.K., and E.B., who were taken to the police station, were referred to the courthouse after their interrogation procedures at the station. In their statements, efforts were made to learn the details regarding how the argument that broke out between them and their friend reached such a bloody conclusion. Security forces are also investigating whether there is any other motivation or arrangement behind the incident.

The suspects, who were referred to the courthouse, were interrogated to be tried after being brought before the duty magistrate's court. In accordance with the statements taken and the evidence collected during the court process, an arrest warrant was issued for F.K., who was confirmed to have fatally injured Ahmet Keleş by using the knife during the incident. On the other hand, K.D. and E.B., who were involved in the fight but whose direct participation in a violent act could not be proven, were released under judicial control conditions to remain free while the trial process continues. It was reported that the arrested F.K. was sent to the detention center to begin serving his sentence. The court is expected to evaluate new evidence and witness statements regarding the incident in the coming days.

This tragic incident has once again revealed how destructive the consequences of momentary anger and intolerance between friends can be. This bitter loss, leaving his family and loved ones in deep mourning, also plunged the local community into great sorrow. The authorities drew attention to the risks posed by carrying sharp and lethal weapons in terms of public health and safety, emphasizing that disagreements should be resolved through dialogue, not violence. Police teams are meticulously continuing the investigation initiated regarding the incident and trying to bring all details to light. Meanwhile, local residents expect these types of violent incidents among young people to come to an end as soon as possible and a fair trial process to be completed.
