Operation against new-generation criminal organization in Istanbul: Arrest requested for 37 suspects

An operation against new-generation armed criminal organizations was conducted in an investigation carried out by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Istanbul. Within the scope of the operation, 37 suspects, including public officials, were detained.

In the investigation, it was determined that members of the criminal organization entered into a relationship for mutual benefit with some public officials. It was established that the suspects obtained unauthorized information on issues such as criminal records, red notices, and customs crossings from officials abusing their duties. The procedures at the police station for the suspects, who include individuals from various professional groups such as police officers, lawyers, and customs officers, have been completed.

37 suspects, whose interrogations were completed, were sent to the duty magistrate's court at the Bakırköy Courthouse after their testimonies at the prosecutor's office. The prosecutor's office requested the arrest of all suspects, who were noted to be acting within the hierarchy of the organization.
