Weapons cache seized on a passenger bus in İstanbul, 4 suspects arrested

Teams from the İstanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Branch seized a large quantity of unlicensed weapons on an intercity passenger bus. Upon intelligence that the transportation was being carried out illegally, an operation was launched under the coordination of the İstanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

The passenger bus, identified as a result of intelligence, was stopped by security forces at the TEM Highway Tuzla location. During a detailed search of the vehicle, teams found a specially designed secret compartment behind the bus's spare fuel tank. From this compartment, 120 unlicensed pistols ready for sale were recovered.

As part of the operation, 4 suspects, identified as being involved in the weapons smuggling network, were taken into custody. After their interrogation at the police department, the suspects were referred to the courthouse and brought before the court with a request for arrest. The suspects were arrested by the duty magistrate and sent to prison, while it was stated that the security forces' fight against organized crime in the region will continue.
