In the town of Modigliana, Italy, a comprehensive study is being initiated to repair the water infrastructure damaged in the flood disaster that occurred in May 2023. Financed with an investment of 500 thousand euros and to be carried out by the Hera company, the project will take five months and bring the region's water network to a modern structure. Works will begin on Monday and will be carried out on Costa, Savelli, Pascoli and Manzoni streets, laying durable new lines in place of the damaged ones. Within the scope of the project, approximately one kilometer of main water pipe and over one and a half kilometers of distribution line will be created from PVC material, and 40 subscriber connections will be completely renewed.

This renewal work will not be limited to the water network but will be conducted as part of a broad plan that also includes the reconstruction of the sewage network and the municipal wastewater treatment plant. This critical infrastructure investment aims to improve the quality of life for citizens living in one of the regions most affected by the flood disaster and to prevent problems such as water outages. Modigliana Mayor Jader Dardi stated regarding the issue that this intervention is of great importance in terms of returning the town's water distribution network to its old and healthy days. The investment in question has been presented as part of the 2024-2029 Industrial Plan, covering a portion of the 228 million euro budget allocated to improve the integrated water cycle throughout the Forlì-Cesena province. This broad-scale planning aims to upgrade the region's infrastructure regarding water management and wastewater treatment to contemporary standards. Changes will be made to traffic flow in work zones to ensure construction activities are carried out safely, and drivers will be warned to follow alternative routes. The work program is planned to progress in sections and stages to complete the process with the least possible disruption.
