Collection center in Caracas rejects the red moccasins donated by Tarek William Saab

An aid collection center located in Caracas has rejected 5 thousand pairs of red moccasins donated by Venezuela's former Chief Prosecutor Tarek William Saab. According to the center, victims have the right to dress with dignity and should not be mistaken for a citizen of another country while walking in destitute conditions on the street.

Along with the moccasins, 300 skinny pants, a collection of pink camouflage scarves, and 200 stretched t-shirts from the Zara Kids brand donated by Saab were also returned. The collection center found these items, which do not address the real needs of the victims, unacceptable.

In contrast, the donated Gucci belts were accepted. Since it was thought that the belt buckles could replace the hot plate (budare) used to cook arepas, these items will be put to beneficial use for individuals who have been victimized as a result of the state's negligence.
