Kayseri Şeker's Traditional Summer School Opened Its Doors for the 14th Time

Kayseri Şeker continues its long-term investments aimed at the sporting development of children and youth. Placing great importance not only on agricultural production and industry but also on amateur sports, the institution runs various projects to raise healthy and successful generations of the future. Through the traditional Summer School program, organized within this scope and held for the fourteenth time this year, it is aimed for hundreds of children to spend their vacations productively. The institution continues the sports activities it supports in different branches throughout the year without interruption during the summer months. Thus, children's physical development is supported, and they are taught important values such as discipline and team spirit.

The opening program, held for the 14th time, started with great enthusiasm following a moment of silence for the revered martyrs and the singing of the National Anthem. As part of the program, a boxing exhibition performed by the athletes of the Kayseri Şeker ERVA Boxing Team received great acclaim from the audience. The exhibition stood out as a concrete indicator of the value the institution places on infrastructure and the training of young athletes. Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Deputy Governor Ömer Tekeş, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Ali İhsan Kabakçı, and many senior managers attended the opening ceremony. Furthermore, the event, which drew intense interest from parents and student-athletes, revealed how far-reaching the sporting activities in the region are among the masses.

Speaking at the ceremony, Kayseri Pancar Ekicileri Kooperatifi Board Chairman Hüseyin Akay stated that the sports facilities have almost turned into a festival grounds with the excitement of the children. Expressing the excitement of this year's program, Akay noted that children between the ages of eight and fourteen will receive training at the Summer School, which has been running uninterrupted for nearly fifteen years. For five weeks, four days a week, the children will train accompanied by expert instructors assigned by the Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Mufti's Office. Chairman Akay emphasized that this educational process will make significant contributions to both the physical and spiritual development of the children. He also reminded that within the framework of Kayseri Şeker's understanding of social responsibility, it places importance on education and scholarship support for university students.

According to the information provided by Chairman Akay, the Kayseri Şeker Summer School is organized simultaneously not only in the Kayseri city center but also in the Boğazlıyan district. In this context, it was stated that 642 children in Kayseri and 150 children in Boğazlıyan actively participated in the program. These figures reveal the institution's determination to reach wide audiences and provide social benefits. Emphasizing that Kayseri Şeker is a regional role model in social responsibility projects alongside its production and farmer support activities, Akay drew attention to the importance of this investment in the future of children. It is aimed to discover talented children and prepare a proper foundation for them for a professional sports career.

Also speaking at the event, Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek shared his pride in seeing the children full of excitement with Turkish flags, stating that they are the children not only of their families but also of the Turkish nation, which has a thousands-of-years-old history. Governor Çiçek congratulated the institution's management for Kayseri Şeker's exemplary work in the field of social responsibility, as well as its great success in agricultural development. He stated that the important position Kayseri holds in Turkish agriculture is made possible thanks to the dedicated work of Akay and his team. At the end of the program, protocol members inspected the Kayseri Şeker Wrestling Hall and received detailed information about the infrastructure works.
