Earthquake in Colombia: 265 Dead, Economic Emergency Declared

A devastating earthquake in Colombia has resulted in 265 fatalities. The disaster has affected 25,872 families and 53,816 individuals nationwide. An economic emergency has been declared, and a special fund has been established using national and international resources to rebuild hospitals, schools, roads, airports, and other infrastructure.

The earthquake has also caused significant damage to educational and healthcare facilities. A total of 1,667 educational centers, 530 community centers, 188 health centers, 43 water treatment plants, and 29 banks have been damaged. In terms of transportation infrastructure, 129 roads, 20 vehicle bridges, one pedestrian bridge, and two airport terminals have been affected. The cities of Cali and Pereira have been the most severely impacted, with 92 and 83 fatalities reported, respectively.
