Three Healthcare Workers Injured in Attack by 87-Year-Old Patient on Island

In a shocking incident at a state hospital located on Yunanistan's Limni Adası, an 87-year-old patient allegedly attacked doctors and a nurse. The incident occurred during a period when healthcare services in the region are being debated, reigniting concerns about the safety of healthcare workers. The elderly male patient, who was receiving treatment at the hospital, is reported to have attacked the medical staff viciously. The union emphasized that healthcare workers are frequently subjected to violence in hospitals and that this situation has reached an intolerable level. POEDIN officials highlighted the severity of the incident, stressing that authorities must take urgent measures. This violent event exposes the consequences of chronic issues in the healthcare system, such as staff shortages and increasing impatience among patients. The union stated that the elderly patient's actions were unacceptable and that he has been brought to justice.
