Malatya Municipality lays 7,280 meters of irrigation pipes

Malatya Metropolitan Municipality continues to strengthen irrigation infrastructure in rural neighborhoods to ensure uninterrupted agricultural production and more efficient use of water resources. Within this scope, a total of 7,280 meters of irrigation pipes were laid in the districts of Akçadağ and Battalgazi. The work was carried out in the neighborhoods of Develi, Esenbey (Doğantepe), and Karaköy. The project aims to deliver water more efficiently to agricultural lands and significantly improve farmers' irrigation capabilities. Municipality officials stated that this investment will make a substantial contribution to agricultural production in the region.

In Develi neighborhood of Akçadağ district, 3,100 meters of irrigation pipes were laid. This neighborhood stands out as an area with intensive agricultural activities. The new pipeline will facilitate farmers' access to water and reduce irrigation costs. Additionally, more efficient use of water resources is expected to increase crop diversity. The work in Develi neighborhood was welcomed by the local population.

In Esenbey (Doğantepe) neighborhood, 3,178 meters of irrigation pipes were laid. This neighborhood is particularly known for fruit and vegetable farming. The new infrastructure aims to provide irrigation water more regularly and in sufficient quantities. Municipality teams meticulously completed the pipe laying process and made it available to residents. Farmers in Esenbey neighborhood expressed that this investment will boost their production.

In Karaköy neighborhood of Battalgazi district, 1,002 meters of irrigation pipes were laid. This neighborhood is notable for its high agricultural potential but limited water resources. The new pipeline will enable more efficient use of existing water sources. Additionally, with the strengthening of irrigation infrastructure, the amount of arable land in the neighborhood is expected to increase. Residents of Karaköy neighborhood expressed their satisfaction with this work by the municipality.

Malatya Metropolitan Municipality announced that it will continue irrigation infrastructure investments in line with rural development goals. Officials stated that similar projects will be implemented in other neighborhoods. Such investments are expected to increase agricultural production in the region and raise farmers' income levels. Furthermore, efficient use of water resources will also contribute to sustainable agricultural practices.
