80,000 people questioned in Malatya in 7 days, 9 arrested

Malatya Governor Yavuz announced the security balance sheet for the 7-day period between June 22 and 28 during the Expanded Provincial Security and Coordination Meeting held at the governorate building. The meeting addressed issues such as combating drugs, terrorist organizations, wanted persons, public order incidents, traffic, school safety, and irregular migration. The governor shared the details of the operations with the public.

In public order operations, 461 out of 516 incidents were solved, and 80,360 individuals were questioned. As a result, legal action was taken against 513 people, and 287 were found to be evading conscription. Authorities seized 12 pistols, 96 rounds of ammunition, and 5 blank-firing pistols. These figures indicate intensive efforts by security forces.

In operations targeting wanted persons, 41 individuals were arrested with warrants, and 78 were detained for testimony. A total of 119 people were captured, and 493 fixed and shock checkpoints were conducted. Sentences included 36 people receiving 5 years, 3 people receiving 6-10 years, and 2 people receiving 10 years or more in prison. Additionally, 9 individuals were arrested.

In the fight against narcotics, 16 incidents were recorded, and 33 suspects were processed. Nine people were arrested, and authorities seized 50 grams of methamphetamine, 5,638 synthetic pills, and 97 grams of synthetic cannabinoids. In smuggling cases, 7 incidents were identified, and 12 people were processed. Seizures included 270 packs of cigarettes, 10 e-cigarettes, and 300 undervalued gold items.

Traffic enforcement operations checked 36,164 vehicles and 3,246 motorcycles. Additionally, 2,770 alcohol tests were conducted, and 457 school buses were inspected. Governor Yavuz stated that these efforts will continue uninterruptedly for the peace and safety of citizens. It was emphasized that similar operations will persist in the coming period in line with the decisions taken at the meeting.
