Blood Donation Record in Mardin: 3,241 Units Collected

A blood donation campaign that has been ongoing for three consecutive years in Mardin has achieved a great success this year. A total of 3,241 units of blood were collected, setting a new record. In the first year, 1,047 units were collected, and in the second year, 2,047 units. This year, the targets were exceeded and a record was broken.

Mardin Governor and Metropolitan Municipality Acting Mayor Tuncay Akkoyun also participated in the campaign and donated blood. Governor Akkoyun emphasized that blood donation is one of the most meaningful examples of social responsibility that saves lives. He thanked all citizens who supported the campaign.

Governor Akkoyun stated that the intense interest and sensitivity shown by the people of Mardin to the campaign is one of the best examples of social solidarity. He thanked the Turkish Red Crescent, district governorships, public institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, and all voluntary donors for their contributions.

The campaign, held under the slogan "We Are Sincerely Connected to Each Other; Mardin," demonstrated that blood donation awareness has strengthened in Mardin with the record donation amount. It once again revealed that citizens have shown exemplary solidarity in terms of social responsibility.

This success will make a significant contribution to healthcare services in Mardin. The collected blood units will be evaluated by the Turkish Red Crescent for use in emergencies and regular treatments. The campaign is planned to continue in the coming years.
