Search for young woman who disappeared on Mount Ajusco in Mexico has been ongoing for a year

Ana Amelí García Gámez disappeared on June 12, 2025, at Pico del Águila in the Ajusco region of Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. Since that day, no news has been heard from the 19-year-old young woman, and her mother, Vanessa Gámez, along with other searching families, is waging a great struggle to find her missing daughter due to the inadequacy of the authorities.

The family has engaged in actions such as hanging posters and organizing various protests to announce the disappearance and raise awareness. The Mexico City Attorney General's Office announced that it will give a reward of 500 thousand pesos to those who bring information about the young woman's whereabouts. Additionally, it was reported that the prosecutor's office received some anonymous tips that could advance the investigation.
