Simultaneous Operation in 10 Provinces in the Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu Helicopter Crash Investigation: 25 Detentions

A new stage has been reached in the investigation regarding the 2009 helicopter crash that resulted in the deaths of Great Union Party (BBP) Founding General President Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and his delegation. In a statement made by Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, it was announced that a large-scale operation was launched to shed light on the helicopter crash.

Within the scope of the case transferred from Kahramanmaraş to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, proceedings were initiated against 29 suspects with allegations including premeditated murder and establishing an armed terrorist organization. Simultaneous raids were carried out at 30 addresses in 10 provinces, primarily Ankara, as well as İstanbul, İzmir, and Adana.

During the operation, 25 suspects were captured, while 2 suspects were determined to be in prison and 2 suspects were abroad. Minister of Justice Gürlek stated that efforts are ongoing to capture the fugitive suspects.

Minister Gürlek emphasized that the case will be clarified in all aspects through the cooperation of the judiciary and law enforcement. He gave the message that no suspicion will be left unanswered and those responsible will be brought to justice.
