Difficult search at sea for the crew of the cargo plane that disappeared off the coast of Pakistan

Search efforts to find the five-member crew of the cargo plane that crashed after losing radar and radio contact off the southwest coast of Pakistan are continuing with great difficulties due to adverse weather and sea conditions. Search and rescue teams belonging to the Pakistan Navy are trying to find the missing crew by battling the wavy and rough sea conditions prevailing in the area. Officials stated that they located the wreckage of the plane shortly after the accident and salvaged it from the water. However, despite the discovery of the wreckage, no trace of the five crew members on board has been found yet. Pakistan Prime Minister Şehbaz Şerif emphasized the importance of the matter by demanding that all state facilities and resources be mobilized in these search efforts.

When the details of the incident were examined, it was revealed that the plane was operated by a private airline company named K2 Airways. The plane, taking off from Şarca, Birleşik Arap Emirlikleri, had reported a navigation system malfunction in a timely manner while approaching Pakistan's largest city, Karaçi. Immediately after this critical technical malfunction was reported, all radio communication with the plane was suddenly and completely cut off. The plane completely disappeared after being seen on radar screens for the last time in the open sea, approximately 300 kilometers southwest of Karachi. Officials concluded that the plane had crashed following this sudden and unexpected communication loss and immediately launched a large-scale search operation.

Radar data regarding the way the accident occurred and the moment the plane crashed reveals quite shocking details. According to statements by the Pakistan Havalimanları Otoritesi, a very sudden and inexplicable major change of direction occurred in the plane's route. Immediately after this sudden maneuver, the plane began to lose altitude and rapidly descended towards the sea within seconds. At approximately 21:21 local time, the plane's trace on radar completely disappeared and radio signals were never received again. These tragic developments indicate that the crash occurred instantly and with massive destruction.

The process of locating and salvaging the wreckage from the water was meticulously carried out as a complex operation by Pakistan Sahil Güvenlik and Navy teams. Approximately twelve hours after the plane's disappearance, ships belonging to the Pakistan Deniz Kuvvetleri and teams affiliated with the Pakistan Deniz Güvenlik Ajansı successfully localized the wreckage on the sea surface. The debris and aircraft parts obtained in the initial examinations were found off the coast of Ormara in the Makran region of Pakistan's southwestern Belucistan province, approximately 100 kilometers (60 miles) from the shore. Experts confirmed that the parts found at this location belonged to the crashed cargo plane and moved the center of the search operation there.

Following this accident, which reached the proportions of a national tragedy, Pakistan Prime Minister Şehbaz Şerif directly contacted officials and search and rescue teams. The Prime Minister instructed that all units assigned to the region to find the missing crew must make an outstanding effort and that all available logistical resources of the state be allocated to this purpose. Additionally, Şerif conveyed his deep condolences to the families of the five crew members feared to have lost their lives in this tragic event. It was also explicitly stated by officials that a comprehensive investigation has been launched to fully reveal the underlying technical causes and possible human factors of the crash.
