Red Flood Code Issued for Prahova and Dâmbovița Rivers in Romania

A red flood code, the highest level for flood risk, has been issued in Romania's Prahova region. Ro-Alert warning messages were broadcast by authorities for the local population. As a result of the overflow of the Prahova and Dâmbovița rivers, severe flooding occurred in many surrounding settlements.

Especially in the Păulești and Filipeștii de Târg areas, the waters reached the gardens of many houses. Firefighting teams were dispatched to the area to drain the accumulated water and create evacuation channels. To facilitate the drainage process, it was reported that the teams tore down some walls and fences to open pathways for the water to flow.

During the disaster, rescue teams carried out an intensive response at the scene. No information has been shared yet regarding whether there have been any casualties among the local residents.
