Nigerian medical student Adaobi Nnani was injured in an attack by Russian forces in Ukraine and later died in Germany. Nnani was in her final year at Kharkiv National Medical University and was attacked along with her friends.

Russia denied responsibility for the attack and claimed that Ukraine's air defense system confusion was the primary cause of civilian casualties. However, Nnani's friends and acquaintances stated that her death was a result of the war.
