Witnesses described the incident this way in the Sapanca murder trial.

New developments have occurred in the trial regarding the knife fight in the Sapanca district that resulted in the death of Yasin Emre Solmaz. In the hearing continuing at the Sakarya 2nd Heavy Penal Court, witnesses who shed light on the night of the incident were heard. Witnesses stated to the court that they did not see the initial argument but conveyed details regarding the moment of the stabbing. Witness M.K. stated that he intervened between Solmaz and defendant E.Y. to try to break up the argument. It was alleged that at the scene, Solmaz took off his jacket and hat, hung them on the fence, put his hand to his waist, and swore.

According to the testimonies of the witnesses, as the argument intensified, defendant K.Y.Y. waved the knife in his hand towards Solmaz. At this moment, Yasin Emre Solmaz started running, and M.K. and defendant E.Y. also chased after him. Witnesses stated that they heard M.K. call the 112 Emergency Call Center while leaving the scene, but expressed that they did not hear certain words allegedly uttered by the defendants. Some witnesses told the court that they saw blood stains on the clothes of the defendants they saw after the incident. Also in the hearing, a witness who was with Solmaz and other friends stated that no alcohol was consumed and they were not present at the moment of the stabbing.

The plaintiffs' lawyers announced that they would object to the decision for some witnesses, who were accomplices of the defendants, to be tried as well. While the prosecutor requested that the defendants be punished at the upper limit, the defense attorneys requested additional time to prepare their written defenses. The court panel decided to continue the detention of the detained defendants and adjourned the hearing to a future date. This decision to continue detention means that the defendants will remain in prison.

According to the indictment prepared by the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and accepted by the court, aggravated life imprisonment is being sought for defendants K.Y.Y. and E.Y. for the crime of "intentional murder". Additionally, a prison sentence of 6 months to 1 year is sought for defendant K.Y.Y. for the crime of "simple injury". The hearing will continue with the taking of the defenses of the defendant attorneys and the hearing of other witnesses in the upcoming sessions. The court process is progressing decisively to reveal the details of the incident.
