Three People Caught Attempting to Rob Citizens in Selanik

Three suspects were taken into custody by police forces in Selanik, Greece's second-largest city, following a series of consecutive robberies targeting ordinary citizens. It was reported that the detained suspects consist of two men, aged 31 and 42, and a 28-year-old woman. It was understood that throughout the night of the incidents, the perpetrators wandered the city center, targeting potential victims. During the incidents, two male and one female victim were threatened with violence and forced to hand over their belongings. The belongings forcibly taken from the victims include mobile phones and bank cards. It is assessed that the victims who were subjected to violence experienced great fear and panic at the scene, and this situation facilitated the criminals' actions.

Following the capture of the robbery suspects, police forces quickly located the victims' stolen belongings. In particular, the stolen bank card was found during a search of the suspects and returned to its legal owner. This situation allowed for at least some compensation for the victims' financial losses, while also showcasing the successful operation of the security forces. Additionally, other evidence was collected through examinations at the crime scene and on the suspects, further strengthening the case. Authorities urge citizens to be vigilant to avoid encountering similar situations and to stay away from desolate areas during nighttime hours.

A woman, who is one of the victims of these terrifying nighttime incidents, sustained injuries to various parts of her body when violence was used against her. Medical teams were called to the scene to provide initial first aid, and the woman was subsequently transported to a hospital in the city for comprehensive treatment. In a statement made by authorities, it was noted that the victim's health condition is stable and she is not in life-threatening danger. This traumatic incident has also led to the questioning of the security measures taken by law enforcement in the city center. To prevent similar painful incidents from occurring in the future, Selanik police forces are meticulously following the judicial process of the suspects.
