Saudi Arabia Concludes BIO 2026 Biotechnology Conference with Strategic Partnerships

The Saudi Arabian delegation, led by Engineer Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister for Planning and Development at the Ministry of Health, successfully concluded its participation in the 2026 BIO International Biotechnology Conference held in San Diego, United States of America. The delegation achieved significant tangible results by signing a series of strategic agreements and partnerships with leading international organizations during the event. These steps were taken in a manner that directly supports the objectives of the healthcare sector transformation program within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030. One of the most notable developments during the event was the official announcement of a new initiative named "Launch in Saudi," aimed at rapidly implementing advanced healthcare innovations and next-generation treatment methods in Saudi Arabia. In addition, the local pharmaceutical giant Spimaco pharmaceutical company signed a collaboration agreement with Genetix Biotherapeutics to bring and localize biological drug development technologies in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the Amaroxx company also signed different global partnerships covering immunology therapies and drug development fields. All these agreements serve the country's goal of reducing external dependency by increasing domestic scientific production capacity. The signed protocols pave the way for Saudi Arabia to assume a more critical role in the global supply chain in drug and treatment development processes.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health organized a high-level roundtable meeting during the conference to encourage increased investments in clinical trials within the country. A total of 40 different leaders and officials from the largest companies and contract research organizations in the global market participated in the meeting.
