Terrifying traffic accident in Tunceli: 1 dead, 5 injured

A sorrowful traffic accident that occurred in the Halvori Gözeleri location on the Tunceli-Ovacık highway has caused deep sadness in the region. According to initial information, a Fiat Tofaş brand automobile with license plate 62 AC 553, whose driver has not yet been identified, collided head-on with a pickup truck with license plate 23 AFN 923. The severity of the collision caused the Fiat Tofaş to become unusable and scrapped, resulting in serious damage to the car, which was one of the parties involved in the accident. Initial examinations by teams who immediately arrived at the scene clearly revealed just how severe the accident was and the life-threatening danger it posed.

The balance of the accident was unfortunately heavy, and 6 people found at the scene were injured. Among the injured is a 52-year-old citizen named Ali İhsan Kandil, as well as five other individuals aged 13, 13, 18, 39, and 48, three of whom are children, with their names hidden by abbreviations. The alert made by nearby citizens who saw the accident and noticed the situation by immediately calling the 112 Emergency Call Center accelerated the dispatch of aid teams to the scene. Upon this call, gendarmerie teams as well as health and fire departments were dispatched to the scene in the shortest possible time.

With the arrival of the teams at the scene, a difficult rescue operation racing against time was initiated to extract the injured from the vehicle. In particular, the injured who were trapped and squeezed in the automobile were rescued from their location as a result of long-term efforts carried out with the intense efforts and equipment usage of the fire department teams, and were handed over to health teams. The severity of the injured's condition and their entrapment demonstrated how critical and arduous the rescue work was. Medical teams stabilized the condition of the injured and then transported them to Tunceli State Hospital for treatment by ambulance.

Despite all medical interventions performed at Tunceli State Hospital and the intense efforts of doctors, 52-year-old Ali İhsan Kandil, one of the injured in the accident, could not be saved and lost his life. This sad news has created mourning and grief among the entire people of the region, especially his family and loved ones. Although no detailed statement has yet been made from hospital sources regarding the condition of the other injured, it is known that their treatment continues and it is hoped that they will be able to hold on to life. This loss of life has once again reminded us of the importance of traffic safety in a painful way.

An investigation has been launched regarding the exact cause of the accident and the conditions under which it occurred, and the related investigation is currently being carried out meticulously. Following their examinations at the scene, gendarmerie teams are preparing the necessary reports to determine the technical details of the accident and the fault status. Traffic teams are also investigating whether there is any road deficiency or unsuitable condition on that part of the Ovacık highway. Authorities emphasize that drivers must be careful and strictly adhere to traffic rules in order to prevent such painful events from happening again.
