The United Kingdom changes its 200-year tax system, affecting those living abroad

The United Kingdom made radical changes to its international taxation regime in 2025.

Breaking a system that had been in effect for over 200 years, the tax advantages granted to individuals known as "non-domiciled" (those whose domicile is outside the United Kingdom) were abolished.
