The German Commerciant Who Found Troy but Destroyed the City
German commerciant Heinrich Schliemann, in 1873, found the 'Priam's Treasure' in Hisarlık through his excavations.
However, during the excavations, he destroyed a significant part of the city. Schliemann considered Homer's 'Iliad' as a real event and worked to prove the existence of Troy.
