AHBAP investigation expands: number of detainees rises to 39 with operations conducted in 4 provinces

The number of suspects detained within the scope of the AHBAP Association investigation has risen to 39 with simultaneous new operations conducted in İstanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, and Muğla. While 14 more people were caught in the operations carried out by the İstanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams, it was learned that 3 suspects are already in prison for other crimes.

According to the investigation file, it is claimed that donations collected on behalf of the association were transferred to the personal account of Haluk Levent's assistant. It is alleged that approximately 125 million 765 thousand liras from this account were sent to individuals and companies connected to Levent's brother, Berkant Acil. Additionally, there are findings indicating that the tender for the 35th International Şile Cloth Festival, organized by the Şile Municipality, was obtained irregularly using fake invoices.

In the first phase of the investigation, 22 suspects, including association founder Haluk Levent, were detained. In the file prepared with MASAK reports and technical surveillance work, high-volume money transfers inconsistent with the financial profiles of the suspects are being investigated. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office emphasized that the allegations are at the claim stage and there is no finalized judicial decision.
