Aliyev: Projects in the region require active cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in his speech at the opening of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, emphasized that active communication between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is of critical importance in realizing regional projects. Aliyev thanked the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, for his support in the reconstruction of Karabakh and touched upon the brotherhood ties between the two countries through the art center opened in Fuzuli.

Stating that the two countries continue to expand their infrastructure works, Aliyev noted that Kazakhstan is also making efforts to grow its port infrastructure. He also added that important issues such as customs, digitalization, and tariffs are being discussed in the joint cooperation format established between Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.

Noting that important steps have also been taken in terms of energy connections, Aliyev recalled the plan to lay an energy cable on the Caspian Sea bed with the agreement signed in 2024 with the presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. He added to his words that feasibility studies for this project are ongoing and that the construction of a fiber optic cable with Kazakhstan is also being discussed.
