2.5 Million Lira Construction Site Theft in Bolu Gerede: Suspect Arrested

In a high-value theft incident that occurred in the Gerede district of Bolu, it was reported that materials worth approximately 2.5 million lira were stolen from a construction site. The incident took place on July 8 and was quickly solved following a report and investigation by teams working in the area. The stolen materials included equipment used in the industrial sector with a very high financial value. This situation stood out as a significant event in terms of both a serious financial loss for businesses and security concerns in the region. Security units launched a comprehensive investigation to find the perpetrators of the incident and recover the stolen materials.

According to officials' statements, among the materials taken from the construction site without authorization are two circulation pumps. In addition, a total of 124 valves belonging to these pumps were included in the details of the theft. Furthermore, 11 natural gas earthquake valves and three rainwater hydrofor units were added to the list of stolen items. The total market value of these technical equipments was calculated to be approximately 2.5 million Turkish Liras. The fact that the said equipment is of critical importance, especially in infrastructure and construction projects, further magnified the scale of the incident.

Following the theft incident, the teams of the Bolu Provincial Police Department Public Security Branch Directorate and the Gerede District Police Department Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau Office intervened in the matter. Police teams conducted a detailed examination at the crime scene, evaluating any clues. The examination of security camera footage and the statements of potential witnesses in the area played a major role in the progression of the investigation. As a result of intensive and meticulous work, the identity of the suspect who committed this large-scale theft was determined. It was established that the suspect was an individual whose initials were announced as C.Y.Y.

The efforts made by the teams not only revealed the identity of the thief but also uncovered the fate of the stolen materials. As a result of operational follow-up, it was understood that C.Y.Y. tried to generate income by selling the valuable materials they stole. The suspect was caught red-handed by police teams just as they were about to dispose of the materials and was quickly taken into custody. This successful operation demonstrated the determination of the security forces both in protecting public property and preventing theft crimes. The individual taken into custody was taken to the police department, where they were subjected to comprehensive interrogation.

The suspect C.Y.Y., whose interrogation and procedures at the police department were completed, was later referred to the courthouse. It was shared that the individual, who was brought before the court, was arrested and sent to prison. This development was welcomed by the local people and businesses in terms of the functioning of the judicial system. The judicial dimension of the case is expected to continue, and steps to clarify the fate of the other stolen materials may come to the agenda in the coming days. Officials continue to issue warnings about increasing security measures at construction sites and warehouses to prevent similar theft incidents.
