Iraqi Airways is starting direct flights between Kerkük and Antalya as of Tuesday, 14 Temmuz. In a statement from the Kerkük Airport Press Office, it was announced that the first flight will be operated from Kerkük to Antalya Airport.
It was reported that the new flights will initially be operated reciprocally one day a week. Planes departing from Bağdat are planned to land in Kerkük and then continue their flights towards Antalya.
Kerkük Airport was officially opened on 16 Ekim 2022 with the participation of the Iraqi Minister of Transport of the time. The airport in question hosted the first international flights to Turkey within the same year it was opened.
