As a result of the comprehensive narcotics operations recently carried out by security forces in Karabük, a significant amount of illegal substances has been seized. The teams of the Narcotics Crimes Department, affiliated with the Provincial Police Department, launched a simultaneous operation across the city to prevent drug trafficking and use. Within this scope, raids were conducted on various addresses in a total of seven separate operations. At the end of the operations, nine different suspects were detained for questioning, and based on the evidence against them, one person was arrested. Security officials state that the fight against drug dealers will continue with determination and that new operations are on the agenda.

As a result of the physical and technical surveillance conducted by the teams, a wide variety of drugs and stimulants were confiscated. During the searches, liquid-form cannabis, ready for use, was detected in a remarkable quantity. In addition, it was reported that sixty-three synthetic ecstasy pills, belonging to the synthetic drug family that has become widespread especially in recent years, were found hidden on the suspects. Furthermore, sixty-four synthetic cannabinoid substances intended for smoking, seized after being soaked into napkins, constituted a major portion of the operation. Security forces assess that these substances were in their final preparation stages before being sold on the street and posed a serious threat to public health.

The seizure of methamphetamine constituted one of the most important phases of the operation. During the detailed searches conducted by the narcotics teams, approximately thirty-seven grams of methamphetamine were secured. Methamphetamine is considered one of the most dangerous substances globally due to the severe psychological and physical damage it causes. The seizure of such heavy drugs by the Turkish police before they hit circulation plays a critical role in preventing potential crimes and health issues. The official procedures carried out for the destruction of such substances are also being meticulously completed.

The operational activities of the Karabük Provincial Police Department were not limited to preventing current crimes but also included search efforts for past incidents. In this context, a fugitive suspect who was being sought for previously committed drug crimes was apprehended. This suspect, who had been monitored by the police for a long time, was successfully apprehended at the address where he was hiding and handed over to security forces. Such operations aim to weaken the organizational structure formed by individuals who have not completed their judicial process or who evade serving their sentences. It was reported that after the procedures at the police station were completed, the individual was referred to the judicial authorities.

Judicial processes have been initiated by evaluating the evidence found on the nine detained suspects. During this process, while an arrest warrant was issued for one of the suspects referred to the court, different measures such as judicial control or a ban on leaving the country may have been applied to the other individuals. The Karabük police urgently request the public to report any tips to them in order to protect children and young people from such harmful substances. The cooperation of the local community is seen as one of the most effective methods for the police to identify street dealers and large-scale suppliers. In the coming days, new and more comprehensive operations are expected to be carried out across Karabük to put an end to drug trafficking. This struggle, maintained for the peace of society, continues to be the top agenda item of the security forces in the region.
