Kayseri Büyükşehir Belediyesi Su ve Kanalizasyon İdaresi (KASKİ) Genel Müdürlüğü continues its operations at wastewater treatment plants with determination, in line with an environmentally sensitive and sustainable service approach. According to the June 2026 data, a total of 2 million 314 thousand 568 cubic meters of wastewater was treated at the plants and safely discharged into the environment. This amount represents a significant increase compared to the previous month and shows how effectively KASKİ utilizes its capacity. The treated wastewater is of great importance in terms of preventing environmental pollution and protecting water resources. KASKİ officials state that this success was achieved thanks to regular maintenance and the use of modern technology.

KASKİ's wastewater treatment plants are designed to meet the growing wastewater load along with Kayseri's increasing population and industrial activities. Physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes are applied at the plants to improve water quality. The 2.3 million cubic meters of wastewater treated in June is equivalent to the volume needed to fill approximately 920 Olympic swimming pools. A large portion of this water is reused for purposes such as agricultural irrigation or industrial use. Thus, both water saving is achieved and natural resources are protected.

This eco-friendly practice contributes to Kayseri's sustainable development goals. KASKİ is also carrying out studies to increase energy efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint at wastewater treatment plants. For example, the biogas produced during the treatment process is used in electricity generation to meet a portion of the plant's energy needs. In addition, the treatment sludge is evaluated as fertilizer, contributing to the circular economy. These innovative approaches place KASKİ among the exemplary institutions in Turkey.

KASKİ Genel Müdürlüğü adopts the principle of transparency through the reports it regularly publishes. The June data shows the institution's determination in sharing its performance and environmental impact with the public. Citizens can access up-to-date data via KASKİ's website or mobile application. In addition, the plants are regularly inspected and compliance with environmental regulations is ensured. In this way, everyone living in Kayseri gains the right to live in a clean environment.

As a result, KASKİ's treatment of 2.3 million cubic meters of wastewater in June once again reveals the importance the institution attaches to the environment and its commitment to sustainability goals. This success sets an inspiring example not only for Kayseri but for all of Turkey. While similar figures are expected to be achieved in the coming months, it seems possible for KASKİ to reach even greater goals thanks to its technological investments and its staff acting with environmental awareness.
