The extensive 'modem fraud' operation, centered in Kayseri and spanning seven different provinces, was successfully concluded thanks to the successful efforts of the security forces. As part of the detailed investigation into the matter, numerous steps were taken targeting the financial and logistical resources of the fraud gang. Within the scope of the operation, a total of 53 suspects, for whom detention warrants were issued, were apprehended and taken into custody through simultaneous raids by law enforcement units. A judicial process was initiated against the suspects on the grounds that they defrauded citizens by abusing the opportunities provided by technology.

The detained suspects were subjected to detention trial at the judicial authorities they were referred to after their statements were taken at the police station. The prosecution authorities, considering criteria such as the nature of the crime committed by the suspects, the state of evidence, and the risk of potential flight, revealed the depth of the investigation conducted. As a result of the meticulous examination by the prosecution and the factors determining the course of the investigation, statements were given with a request for the arrest of some of the suspects. It was requested that the 53 defendants brought to court be evaluated under different statuses due to the intensity of the investigation conducted against them and the weight of the evidence.

Along with those released under judicial control conditions, 31 defendants, against whom there was stronger suspicion and evidence, were arrested by court order and sent to prison. It was reported that the detained suspects were subjected to a separate evaluation according to the weight of their roles in the gang organization and the elements of the crime. The operation is assessed to have a deterrent effect in order to prevent the commission of similar crimes in the region and to ensure that justice finds its place against the criminals. The court justified its decision on the continuation of the detention, finding the detention measure appropriate for the purpose of maintaining the secrecy of the investigation and protecting the evidence.

In the statement made by security sources, it was stated that the method called 'modem fraud' was based on causing citizens to suffer financial losses through technological devices and internet subscriptions. It was determined that fraudsters obtained financial opportunities by deceiving innocent people, usually appearing as reliable companies or officials, and provided the financing of the organization in this way. It was emphasized that such criminal organizations cause both material and spiritual damage by shaking trust in the eyes of the public, and operations will continue uninterrupted to prevent this situation. Warnings were made that citizens should be careful about sharing financial resources from similar addresses and in suspicious situations without verification.

The operation carried out simultaneously at different points of Turkey once again demonstrated the coordinated work ability of security units and their determination to combat crime. Legal processes are ongoing, and it is expected that new details and suspects may emerge from the statements of the detained suspects and the examination of digital materials. The studies carried were stated to carry a strong message against other individuals intending to commit similar crimes and to create confidence in the public eye that justice will be swift.
