Illegal billboards dismantled in Kyrgyzistan's Osh city

In Osh, one of the important cities in the south of Kyrgyzistan, a comprehensive inspection was carried out by the municipal authorities within the scope of urban aesthetics and legal regulations. The old billboards and shop signs that adorned the streets and avenues in the city center, but did not have the necessary permits or exceeded legal limits, were systematically removed by the relevant teams. Within the scope of this operation, not only the elements causing visual pollution were dismantled, but also the signs that threatened structural safety and obstructed the road viewing angle.

The official statement regarding the issue was made by the Osh Municipality, the city's administrative unit, and it was stated that such inspections have become routine to maintain the general order of the city. Municipal officials emphasized that the main purpose of this raid application was to bring advertising and promotional elements in urban areas into full compliance with the country's current legislation, municipal regulations, and urban planning standards. It was stated that during the inspections, particular focus was placed on structures that were dilapidated, in a neglected state, or incompatible with the settlement texture.

In the announcement made by the local administration, it was clearly stated that such interventions were not a one-time operation, but rather that the order and visual integrity of the city would be kept under constant supervision. The aim was to raise awareness among citizens and tradesmen on this issue, so that similar legal violations and unauthorized construction works could be prevented in the future. The Municipality stated that the fight against all visual elements that do not remain within the limits required by law would continue with determination in order to create a clean and safe city environment.

In Osh, referred to as the southern capital of Kyrgyzistan, it has been observed that the problem of unauthorized advertisements and signs has become increasingly prominent in recent years along with the increasing urbanization pressure. While this last operation was considered an important step demonstrating the municipality's will regarding urban transformation and regulation, the message was given that protecting the city's aesthetics was a priority. It was noted that the work carried out was of a preliminary nature in terms of revealing the modern face of the city and raising urban standards, and that property owners also had responsibilities in this direction.

In addition to the removal of the illegal advertisements, stricter approval procedures will be executed for the newly filled advertising facilities to be made hereafter. City residents noted that such cleanup activities not only improve the city's image but also significantly improve road safety conditions, as there are no longer billboards blocking traffic signs or drivers' line of sight. The Municipality emphasized the need for citizens' cooperation, stating that a more liveable and ordered Oş would emerge if everyone acted within legal limits.
