Russian air defense destroyed 41 Ukrainian drones in seven regions

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that 41 Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed in various regions of the country between 08:00 and 20:00 on Saturday, July 11, 2026. It was noted that the drones in question were aircraft-type devices, and it was emphasized that they were successfully detected and neutralized by air defense systems. The regions subjected to attacks or posing a threat include Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Rostov, Krasnodar Krai, and the Republic of Crimea. Additionally, it was reported that drones were downed over the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. This situation indicates that the intensity of the conflict continues and air attacks are coming to the forefront.

Although the damages caused by drone attacks in the Belgorod region did not result in fatalities, they caused serious injuries. In the attack that occurred in the morning near the village of Cheremoshnoye, a light commercial vehicle was attacked by a drone. A woman who was severely injured and a man who suffered multiple shrapnel wounds to the face in the incident were taken to Ochakov Regional Hospital after initial intervention. It was announced that the injured, whose conditions were stabilized at the hospital, would later be transferred to a regional clinical hospital. The damage caused by such attacks to civilian settlements and vehicles reveals the negative impact on the local population.

While similar drone attacks continue in the Kursk region, local authorities are conducting damage assessment efforts. According to the statement of Governor Aleksandr Khinshteyn, the roof of a grain silo in the city of Rylsk, one of the most important settlements in the region, was damaged in the attack. However, no casualties or injuries were reported in this incident, which is considered a matter of chance. Khinshteyn also announced that a total of 96 enemy drones were downed in the region in the last twenty-four hours, stating that the air defense system was operating intensively. In Pervomaysk, affiliated with the Luhansk People's Republic, a man born in 1987 was injured in a drone attack on a parking lot in the city center. While two vehicles were damaged in the incident, it was reported that the injured person was taken to the hospital and placed under treatment.

In the Rostov region, fires that broke out following drone attacks were brought under control by firefighting teams. Governor Yuri Slyusar announced that fires that started a day ago due to drone crashes in Taganrog, Azov, and the Azov region were completely extinguished. The danger was overcome thanks to the extinguishing efforts that lasted throughout the night with the support of regional and municipal services. While evacuated residents began to return to their homes, it was reported that aid work for those in need was also continuing. In the Tver region, a fire that broke out at an oil storage facility following a drone attack on July 9 and lasted for two days was completely brought under control.

The impacts of drone attacks on civil aviation cannot be ignored either; temporary restrictions were imposed at some airports. Due to the attacks, temporary restrictions were placed on flight departures and landings at Vnukovo, Pskov, Yaroslavl, Sochi, Gelendzhik, and Krasnodar airports. However, by the time the news was published, it was announced that all these airports had returned to their normal operations. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that they targeted facilities and storage areas used in drone production in Kyiv during the night hours. It was claimed that businesses named 'Aerodron' and 'Fanplit' were struck in the attack, and these facilities were used for the production and storage of drones.
