Harsh Reaction from Vučević to Montenegro: Pressure on Serbian Identity Continues

Miloš Vučević, leader of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and regional issues advisor to the President of Serbia, strongly criticized the Podgorica administration, arguing that the situation of Serbs in Montenegro is deteriorating. In a statement made via the social media platform X, Vučević claimed that Montenegrin authorities continue their policies of pressure against the Serbian people, their language, and national symbols. This outburst from the former advisor to the President of Serbia laid bare the dimensions of the political tension between the two Balkan countries. The statements in question are considered a new reflection of the recent tension between Belgrade and Podgorica. Vučević's claims are being closely monitored in terms of the ethnic and political balances in the region.

Vučević listed among his criticisms the Montenegrin administration's imposition of entry bans on certain Serbian citizens, its stance towards the Serbian language and the Serbian tricolor flag, and the initiative to declare 11 July as a day of remembrance for the victims of the Srebrenica genocide.
