Record turnout blood donation campaign in Zadar despite heat and football

The major summer blood donation campaign held yesterday at Zadar General Hospital once again demonstrated the solidarity of the local people. The event took place in the Polyclinic's Conference Hall, proving how willing citizens are to donate blood.
Conditions on the morning of the campaign were far from favorable, as sweltering heat in the city kept people from going out. In addition, an important football match played late by the Croatian national team, which the entire population followed with interest, was among the factors that could negatively affect participation.
Despite all these negatives, the hospital filling up with donors from the morning hours pleased the organizers and health workers. Citizens did not allow neither the hot weather nor the fatigue from the late-night match to be an obstacle in helping those in need.
The collection of 58 doses of blood shows that the organization was a great success, considering the high number collected despite the heat wave and the difficulties brought by the important sports match. These donations will contribute to replenishing blood stocks in Zadar and surrounding hospitals and saving lives in emergencies.
In conclusion, this event in Zadar went down as a beautiful example of sensitivity to public health and selfless philanthropy. Although both natural conditions and social activities created difficulties, people prioritizing the health of others over their own comfort was described as commendable behavior.
