Among the suspects, against whom investigations were immediately launched, 18 were arrested and sent to prison by the court they were referred to by the prosecutor's office, while a judicial control measure was decided for 16 suspects. It was announced that the legal proceedings of the other detained persons are continuing and their procedures at police units are ongoing for their statements to be taken.
Looking into the details of the investigations, it was determined that the suspects committed crimes using various methods and exhibited an organized structure. It was revealed that the suspects attacked society's most sensitive point by possessing and distributing images of child pornography in online environments. Additionally, it was determined that they engaged in usury via POS devices, lending money to citizens at high interest rates and obtaining unjust gains. In the context of cyber fraud, investigation files also reflected that they stole balances by accessing citizens' mobile banking accounts and game accounts without permission.
It was determined that the suspects, realizing the interest in illegal betting, also engaged in extensive activities in this field, committing crimes by organizing illegal betting and gambling. It was stated that they facilitated money transfers to these sites and advertised illegal betting sites, thereby strengthening the financial resources of this organized crime ring. On the other hand, the network, which was determined to have engaged in forgery using various themes such as 'investment fraud', 'internet modem fee', and 'product price' to deceive citizens through social media platforms and phishing sites, was noted to have caused major economic damage.
