Armed attack following a quarrel in Adana: Suspect apprehended after 500 hours of video examination

The incident that occurred on April 30 in the Gürselpaşa Neighborhood of the central Seyhan district in Adana deeply shaken the local residents. 27-year-old Hakan Şerif K., who was warned by his neighbor due to making noise in the garden of the site where he resides, could not maintain his calm as the argument escalated and resorted to his weapon. Asayiş teams affiliated with the Seyhan District Police Department collected security camera recordings from the scene and surroundings one by one to identify and apprehend the perpetrator of the attack. The total duration of the footage examined reached approximately 500 hours, which posed a process requiring great patience and attention for the police. Analyzing this vast data pool frame by frame, police teams analyzed the suspect's modus operandi and meticulously continued tracking efforts. As a result of the technical examination, it was determined that the suspect left the city immediately after the incident but re-entered Adana borders shortly after.

As a result of the intelligence and technical follow-up work conducted by the security units, the address where the suspect was hiding was precisely identified. Special teams took action and raided the determined address. The wanted person, Hakan Şerif K., was caught red-handed and detained during the operation. During the searches at the address, another individual named Baran D. was identified, who was standing next to Hakan Şerif K. and had a final 10-year prison sentence for fraud. Since there was a detention decision for this individual as well, he was taken into custody.

The detained suspects were referred to the judicial authorities after the completion of their procedures at the police station. Hakan Şerif K. was arrested by the court he was brought before for charges of threatening with a weapon and attempted injury and sent to prison, while the fraud convict Baran D. was delivered to the penal institution to serve his final prison sentence.
