Ahbap investigation expands: Oğuzhan Uğur taken into custody, number of detainees rises to 19

As part of the fraud and money laundering investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 9 more suspects were taken into custody following allegations that donations collected for the Ahbap Association were transferred to personal accounts. It was learned that among the captured suspects is Babala TV owner Oğuzhan Uğur, and his statement procedures at the police department have begun. Among the suspects subject to the investigation are association employees, financial auditors, and an individual operating in the field of crypto assets.

As a result of MASAK reports and technical surveillance conducted, massive money movements inconsistent with the financial profiles of the suspects were detected. According to the investigation, it was determined that the suspects lost significant amounts of money by placing high-stakes bets, using the money allegedly obtained from the donations. Additionally, it was revealed that the individuals engaged in chained title deed transfer transactions among themselves within a short period, and some of their assets were confiscated.

Following 17 suspects captured in the first wave of operations, a total of 25 people were referred to the courthouse, and 14 people, including Haluk Levent, were arrested. In another simultaneous operation conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command in four provinces, 4 more individuals were arrested, and with the arrest of the wanted suspect Alper Çelik, who was caught at a notary public, the total number of detainees in the investigation reached 19.
