Jiu-Jitsu Coach in Brezilya Arrested for Sexual Abuse of 7 Students

Units of the Civil Police operating in the Amazonas state of Brezilya have detained a renowned jiu-jitsu coach who had been on the run for weeks. The suspect, named Carlos Vieira Holanda, is accused of sexually abusing and harassing at least seven underage students. The police investigation revealed that Holanda engaged in sex trafficking by essentially 'selling' his students to businessmen. It was determined that the suspect arranged meetings between the young girls and these individuals to obtain financial benefits from the sponsors financing the sport. According to the information in the case files, the coach even forced one of the victims to meet with a businessman, demanding that she produce sexually explicit materials. It was stated that Holanda introduced and marketed these girls to businessmen as 'fresh youths new to sports'. The police announced that they have also identified the businessmen involved in this perverted trade and that they will be brought to justice.

The suspect's capture process also featured details reminiscent of action movie scenes. Carlos Vieira Holanda had been wanted as a fugitive from justice since the end of May, and his photo had been shared with all security forces. When police teams raided the suspect's house at six in the early morning hours, it was understood that Holanda was preparing to flee. It was observed that he had altered the structural architecture of his house to facilitate his escape, creating strategic exits that provided access to the attic and neighboring buildings. A person who saw the police arriving tried to run to warn the suspect but was stopped by the teams. Since the perimeter had been planned in advance, the suspect was not allowed to jump to neighboring roofs using the wooden platforms on the roof, and his escape attempt was rendered unsuccessful.

After being taken into custody and brought to the police station, Holanda chose to remain silent, exercising his constitutional right while his statement was being taken.
