Elazığ and Surrounding Provinces Prostitution Gang Dismantled: 3 Children Abused

Under the coordination of the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a comprehensive operation was carried out against organized crime organizations in the region. Law enforcement officers conducted simultaneous raids in Tunceli (centered), Elazığ, Adıyaman, Bingöl, and Malatya provinces, aiming to dismantle the financial and physical infrastructure of a network alleged to be engaged in prostitution trade. Operations targeting determined addresses and massage parlors were implemented following technical and physical surveillance with a planned strategy.

The most striking and tragic aspect of the operation was the details revealed regarding the situation of the victims. During the raids, 9 women who were determined to have fallen into the traps of the organized network and forced into prostitution were rescued and placed under protection thanks to the successful intervention of the police teams. Despite being subjected to the network's manipulative methods and coercion, these women were removed from the environment where they were abused thanks to the operation.

As a result of deepening the investigation and taking the statements of the victims, the gravity of the event increased further, and a chilling reality came to light. In the examinations, it was determined that not only adult women but also 3 children were sexually abused by this network. This situation showed that the operation was not only a prostitution prevention action but also of critical importance in terms of combating child abuse.

6 suspects detained by the security forces were referred to the courthouse under intensive security measures after the completion of their procedures. The suspects, who appeared before the judge, were arrested and sent to prison in line with their statements and the evidence presented. Additionally, within the scope of the operation, statements were taken from 13 people considered to have a connection with the event as "persons having knowledge" and the dimensions of the investigation were expanded.

In the statements made by the authorities, it was stated that a large-scale investigation continues to completely solve the other connections of the operation and the functioning of the network. It was recorded that security forces continue their work tirelessly in the region and every detail related to the event is investigated meticulously. This operation revealed that the fight against criminal organizations in the region is not only qualitative but also demonstrates a sharp stance in terms of protecting children's rights.
