Courier with a Disabled Child Pleads for Help from Couple Who Stole His Identity and Used Charity Funds

A delivery courier in Malezya has called for help after his lost identity card (MyKad) was unjustly used by a couple who found it. According to allegations, the couple who found the identity used the card to shop using the MySARA state social assistance funds belonging to the courier. The incident took place in a supermarket located in Setiawangsa and was recorded second by second by security cameras. The father, who stated that he has three children and that one of them is disabled (OKU), expressed this situation with great disappointment. Making a post on his social media account, Salleh detailed the desperate situation the courier is in and the extent of the injustice. According to the activist's statements, the couple in question shopped for approximately 49 Ringgit (RM) from the courier's MySARA account, abusing the state aid for their own personal needs. Although this amount may seem small from the outside, it is a vital resource for the delivery courier to meet the basic needs of his children. Salleh emphasized that people acting so thoughtlessly without considering each other's hardships is unacceptable from a social morality perspective.

The victimized courier, in his statement, noted that he makes a great effort to take care of his three children and works as a delivery worker. The fact that one of his children is disabled, another is of school age, and another is studying at university proves that the family has an extremely fragile economic structure. The SARA assistance provided by the state is given precisely to alleviate the burden of such disadvantaged families and to support the care of disabled individuals. Addressing the couple, the courier asked them to understand why he needs this assistance and to show compassion by returning the identity immediately. In his own words, he pleaded sincerely, saying, "There is a reason for this, I have a disabled child."

This theft and fraud incident has become a situation that not only causes financial loss but also directly threatens the courier's professional life. In Malezya, the official identity card, MyKad, is an indispensable document for maintaining daily life and working legally. The victimized courier, stating that he cannot continue his job at full capacity and support his family without his identity, is currently seeking an urgent solution. Offering a way out to the couple, thinking they might be ashamed or shy, the father said they could leave the identity at the supermarket if they do not want to bring it to his home. This practical solution proposal is an indication of the desperation and urgency regarding the return of the identity as soon as possible.

Following the revelation of the incident, the authorities stepping in to initiate necessary legal actions against the criminals has created a great anticipation.
