4 New Mega Projects for the District from İBB and Büyükçekmece Belediyesi

İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi (İBB) and Büyükçekmece Belediyesi have joined forces to bring four significant projects to life that will directly impact the quality of life for the district's residents. As part of the allocation decisions discussed and approved in the municipal council, sports facilities, a social facility, a municipal restaurant (kent lokantası), and a Directorate of Services for the Disabled will be brought to the area. These projects emerged as a result of the institutional cooperation and shared service vision between the two municipalities. Büyükçekmece Deputy Mayor Hakan Çebi emphasized at the held council meeting that these investments will make significant contributions to the city's development. With the official initiation of the processes, it is planned that the mentioned facilities will be opened to the public in the coming days.

The first meeting of the Büyükçekmece Municipal Council was held under the management of Deputy Mayor Hakan Çebi, and a very busy agenda was addressed. At the beginning of the meeting, deputy group leaders of political parties delivered meaningful messages on the occasion of important days and weeks. Following the speeches, the agenda items were negotiated in detail and resolved, while some topics were submitted to the relevant committees for review. One of the most notable topics on the council agenda was the allocation process of four major investment projects to be carried out jointly by İBB and Büyükçekmece Belediyesi. These projects, which will be realized through mutual agreement and free transfers, demonstrate how productive inter-municipal cooperation can be.

The first important step within the scope of Investment involves the evaluation of an idle building located within the borders of Mimarsinan coast and under the possession of Büyükçekmece Belediyesi. This building, located within a park area, will be transferred free of charge to İBB on the condition that it is used as a social facility. The second project involves the evaluation of an empty building located on Şafak Street in Cumhuriyet Mahallesi, and this building will be transferred to İBB to be operated as a "Municipal Restaurant" (Kent Lokantası). For the third project, a real estate located in Güzelce Mahallesi will be allocated free of charge to the Metropolitan Municipality, provided that modern sports facilities are constructed. Finally, seven independent sections located in the Tepecik Cumhuriyet Cultural and Social Life Center in Ulus Mahallesi will be handed over to İBB to be used as the Directorate of Services for the Disabled.

In addition to the investment projects, emotional decisions aimed at keeping the cultural and historical values of the district alive were also made on the council agenda. The relevant committee was referred to regarding giving the name of the late Kadir İnanır, a legendary figure of Turkish cinema history, to a designated street, avenue, or park. Furthermore, it was accepted to name a park after Zafer Özsayın, who recently passed away and served as the technical deputy mayor and coordinator at Büyükçekmece Belediyesi for many years. These decisions were evaluated as an indicator of the municipality's commitment not only to physical investments but also to preserving the spiritual and cultural memory of the district. Thus, the names of these important figures will be kept alive as a part of the daily lives of the district's residents.

Additionally, at the council meeting, the latest developments regarding zoning plans and urban transformation works in the district were shared by CHP Council Member Kerem Ereke. Ereke stated that the attic plan notes in the Celaliye and Kamiloba regions are currently on display for public review, and that arrangements regarding staircase areas that will facilitate urban transformation are being discussed. The glad tidings were given that the 1/1000 scale zoning plans for Pınartepe Mahallesi, which are eagerly awaited by the citizens, will be put on display this week. It was announced that the first phase 1/5000 scale plans for the Kumburgaz region will be discussed in the İBB Council this month. All these steps play a critical role in preparing Büyükçekmece for the future and conducting city planning transparently.
