45 of 54 suspects detained in Istanbul-centered operation, large quantity of drugs seized

In a large-scale drug operation centered in Istanbul and covering other provinces, security forces achieved a significant success. Within the scope of the simultaneous operation, 54 different suspects involved in drug trafficking and use were caught and detained. Following investigations and administrative procedures, a detention order was issued for the majority of the suspects. As a result of the diligent work of law enforcement units, most of the targeted suspects were referred to judicial authorities.

Of the 54 detained suspects, 45 were remanded in custody and sent to prison by the court they appeared before, due to sufficient evidence and the nature of the crime. Security forces emphasized that by preventing these substances from entering the market, they prevented a further social catastrophe.

Reiterating their determination to combat, officials stated that drug trafficking is a serious crime that threatens not only individual health but also the family structure and social peace.
