First Discount Festival in Kütahya: Export Surplus Products to Become Cheaper

In Kütahya, led by the Sebzeciler ve Pazar Yerleri Esnaf Odası, a 'Discount Festival' is being organized to add vitality to the city's economy and provide consumers with affordable shopping opportunities. The festival will feature a very wide range of products, from clothing to footwear, kitchenware, toys, and cosmetics, presented for the appreciation of the citizens. This organization holds the distinction of being a first among similar events held in Kütahya's history and is of great importance for the support of local tradespeople.

The event will be set up in the neighborhood market area in Gaybiefendi Mahallesi and will be open to visitors for five days between July 4-8. Hakan Akdaş, one of the founders of the festival and the Chairman of the Esnaf Odası, stated in his announcement that they are aiming to sign a major organization with the participation of approximately 250 tradespeople and invited citizens to a discount feast that will pass in a festive atmosphere. It is aimed to create a vibrant atmosphere at the festival, which is planned to continue from 10:00 AM until midnight.

One of the most striking aspects of the festival is the characteristics and origin of the products to be offered for sale. According to the information provided by Akdaş, a significant portion of the products that will take place on the shelves will be selected among 'export surplus' products, that is, products that could not be exported despite high quality standards or were produced in excess. This situation will enable participants to access quality products at prices well below normal store prices. In this festival, where many different categories of products such as kitchenware, clothing, small home appliances, and bags will be present, quality and affordable price are offered together.

Esnaf Odası Chairman Hakan Akdaş emphasized that prices will be much more affordable than expected levels, announcing that products sold for around 1000 lira in stores will be offered for 500 lira at this festival, and basic clothing items like t-shirts will be sold in the 100 lira band. Thus, it is planned both for the tradespeople to clear their stocks and to increase the purchasing power of the citizens. It was emphasized that intense efforts were made to offer a shopping experience in the style of a 'sosyete pazarı' (exclusive bazaar), and that the tradespeople showed special interest in the organization.

The festival, which is expected to bring dynamism to the social and economic life of Kütahya, needs the intense participation of the local people. Organizers are waiting for the people of Kütahya at the festival area for these efforts to add value to the city and accelerate the economic cycle.
