A special event was held in the city of Tlaxcala, Meksika, aimed at strengthening intergenerational interaction and honoring the efforts of senior citizens. At the gathering organized by the Municipal System for the Integral Development of the Family (Smdif), senior athletes from the "Guerreros de Tlaxcala" (Tlaxcala Warriors) team met with students from the Blas Pascal Institute. The event aimed to support the active participation of seniors in society and allow the younger generation to draw inspiration from their life experiences. Authorities believe that such social projects increase the peace and unity of the city. The disciplined life stories of the senior athletes showed young students that sports and an active life are important tools at any age.

During the event, medal-winning senior athletes shared their stories of success achieved in recent state cachibol (a game similar to volleyball) and athletics competitions with the youth. These athletes are very proud to have earned the right to represent the state of Tlaxcala at the National Senior Olympics (Olimpiadas de Oro) in august. Their stories of discipline, perseverance, and overcoming challenges serve as a roadmap for young students. Smdif Director Karina Yazmín Medel Madrid emphasized that the seniors who achieved these successes demonstrated an innovative breakthrough. The youth, on the other hand, stated that listening to these experiences provided them with a great source of motivation for their career and life goals.

In her statement on behalf of the institution, Smdif Director Karina Yazmín Medel Madrid stated that the sporting results achieved are a reflection of the local government's continuous commitment to the well-being of seniors and active aging. The foundations of this vision were laid during the term of the mayor on leave, Alfonso Sánchez García, when policies such as the strengthening of sports facilities for seniors were adopted. With the encouragement of Sánchez García, teams were supported by providing them with needs such as tracksuits and jerseys. Thanks to this support, seniors now have the opportunity to compete in the national arena after local and regional competitions.

It was stated that this social and sports support strategy will continue under the administration of Carlos López Suárez. López Suárez considers sports as a fundamental tool to maintain the health of seniors, integrate them into social life, and promote their personal development. Blas Pascal Institute Director Ricardo Ramos Hernández also stated that the event made a great contribution to the school curriculum, noting that such gatherings teach students practical life values. Avelina Hernández Hernández, a 77-year-old athletics champion who spoke at the event, expressed that she looks to the future with hope, explaining how much energy sporting activities have added to her life.

In the later hours of the day, students and senior citizens not only shared stories but also had plenty of fun playing various games together. Participants engaged in a fierce but friendly competition in games requiring both physical and mental skills, such as cachibol, football, chess, jenga, bingo, and dominoes. This interactive event served as a wonderful bridge for transferring the wealth of knowledge held by the seniors to the youth. The event concluded with a refreshing snack and warm conversations shared among the participants. Such initiatives, where people from all segments of society come together and bond, stand out as a cultural richness hoped to be continued in the future.
