430 Drone Attack on Moskova: Intense Morning Clashes and NATO Summit Impacts

It was reported that in the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, overnight and into the early morning hours, over 430 unmanned aerial vehicles were directed towards the Moskova region. The majority of this massive air attack was neutralized by Russian air defense systems at a distance from the city. According to information received from regional authorities, 36 more enemy UAVs approaching 莫斯科 were shot down, thus largely eliminating the threat over the capital. It was also learned that during the same period, an attack was carried out on an oil refinery in the Omsk region, and repeated drone attacks were conducted against Kırım. It was reported that intense clashes also took place in various regions such as Kurtşk, Herson, and Belgorod, with energy infrastructure being targeted.

On the Sumy front, Russian infantry units belonging to the "North" grouping continue armed clashes in the Bachivsk and Ulanove settlements. It is stated that intense fighting is also taking place in regions such as Rijevka, Pisarevka, and Maryino in the Sumy district, and operations are ongoing in the forested areas south of Ivajansk. While the advance continues in the town of Kazacı Lopan and surrounding forested areas in the Harkiv direction, clashes are occurring in numerous rural areas on the Velikoburluk and Volçansk fronts. These large-scale military operations demonstrate the existence of constant maneuvering and severe military pressure along the front line.

It was announced that 12 UAVs were destroyed during an attack carried out by Ukrainian forces the previous night targeting the construction site of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP-2). It was reported that during the attack, a drone crashed into the cooling tower of the second reactor under construction, but nuclear safety was not compromised. Such attacks targeting critical infrastructures raise concerns internationally by bringing the risk of a nuclear disaster in the region to the agenda. In contrast, during incidents in the Belgorod region, 7 people were injured as a result of a passenger bus being targeted, and it was learned that two children were among the wounded. Furthermore, in the same region, one person died due to a drone explosion falling on a commercial facility, and an FPV-drone falling on a car killed the driver.

In the advance zone of the Russian "East" grouping in the Zaporijya region, Ukrainian forces are reportedly attempting to establish a multi-layered defense line around Novoselovka. As a result of artillery shelling on civilian settlements in the city of Vasilevka, three people were injured and one person lost their life. Additionally, it was reported that in the Priazovski region, 45 hectares of wheat and barley fields burned, directly threatening the region's food security. While mutual artillery shelling continues in the Herson region, aviation elements attached to the "Dinyeper" troops have delivered powerful air strikes on Ukrainian positions. These developments show that the military, as well as humanitarian and economic costs of the war are increasingly rising.

This military buildup, timed to coincide with the start of the NATO Summit held in İstanbul, is interpreted as Kyiv instructing counter-attacks on various fronts to garner more support from the alliance.
