Big Price Hike Coming for Diesel: Effective Starting 8 Temmuz

While fluctuations in fuel prices continue in Türkiye, an important price increase closely concerning diesel users has come to the agenda. According to the latest information obtained from industry sources, a price increase of 1,31 TL will be applied to the liter price of diesel, effective from the date of 8 Temmuz. While this increase is expected to be reflected at the pumps starting from midnight, it is emphasized that consumers should take precautions against this situation. Following the price hikes applied to gasoline in recent weeks, the fact that it is now diesel's turn is evaluated as a development that will further increase the cost pressure on vehicle owners. Global developments in the oil markets and the volatility in exchange rates continue to play a decisive role on domestic fuel prices. Following the mentioned price hike of 1,31 TL, diesel prices are expected to settle at new and higher levels in many provinces of Türkiye. For gasoline prices, no change or new increase is expected for now; this situation indicates that the demand for gasoline will at least remain the same in the short term. In İzmir, drivers can purchase diesel for 66,03 TL per liter. This current picture means that in the scenario where the 1,31 TL increase is added, approximately 66 TL will be seen in İstanbul, and higher figures will be seen in Ankara and İzmir. According to current data, the liter price of gasoline is trading at 62,85 TL on the European Side of İstanbul. While the gasoline price is 63,80 TL in Ankara, this figure is recorded at the level of 64,04 TL in İzmir.
