Third Consecutive Price Hike on Diesel: 70 TL Threshold to Be Exceeded in Metropolitan Areas

According to the latest information obtained from industry sources, a price hike is planned for the diesel group for the third time this period. It is noted that uncertainties in the markets and volatility in exchange rates trigger these price increases. The planned new price adjustment is expected to be reflected at the pumps starting from midnight connecting Friday, 10 Temmuz, to Saturday, 11 Temmuz. Based on information received from industry representatives, it is stated that an increase of 2 to 3 TL per liter of diesel is on the agenda. Following this expected hike, it seems inevitable that diesel prices will exceed the 70 TL psychological threshold, especially in metropolitan areas. It has been learned that updated prices will be valid at fuel stations starting from this date. Drivers are likely to meet their fuel needs before the hour the hike takes effect.

According to current data announced as of Thursday, 9 Temmuz 2026, fuel prices continue to vary in metropolitan areas. On the Avrupa Yakası of İstanbul, gasoline is traded at 62,87 TL, diesel at 66,78 TL, and LPG at 31,19 TL. On the Anadolu Yakası of the city, prices are slightly lower, recorded at 62,68 TL for gasoline, 66,63 TL for diesel, and 30,59 TL for LPG. It is known that these small price differences between the regions stem from distribution costs and local tax policies. Current prices raise curiosity about how much higher levels will be reached following the expected hike.

In the capital, Ankara, according to 9 Temmuz data, the current gasoline price stands at 63,82 TL, while diesel is sold at 67,90 TL. The LPG price in Ankara hovers around 31,19 TL. In another metropolitan city, İzmir, fuel prices are slightly higher, with gasoline traded at 64,06 TL and diesel at 68,17 TL. The LPG price in İzmir was announced as 30,99 TL. These current figures compel consumers to review their budgets following the news of the hike.
