Crackdown on Motorcycles in Mudurnu: Penalties Rain Down on Rule Violators

Recently, there has been a significant increase in complaints from citizens due to the noise pollution caused by motorcycles and violations of traffic rules across the Mudurnu district. Evaluating these complaints, Mudurnu District Police Department teams took action for the safety and tranquility of citizens, initiating a comprehensive study across the district. Teams conducted large-scale public order and traffic operations at strategic points, subjecting motorcycle drivers to intense inspections.
Within the scope of the inspections, motorcycles on the roads were stopped one by one, and the drivers' licenses, registrations, and other documents, as well as the vehicles' compliance with regulations regarding TSE-approved helmets, exhausts, and equipment were examined in detail. During the checks, necessary legal actions were taken against drivers who drove in a manner risking traffic safety, rode without helmets, and disregarded rules by endangering the safety of other drivers and passengers. In this context, administrative fines were imposed on drivers whose violations were detected, within the framework of the Turkish Penal Code and the Highways Traffic Code.
These shock inspections were not limited to fines only; stricter measures were taken against motorcycles with missing documents or unauthorized modifications. During the inspections, 2 motorcycles that were found not to comply with the rules and failed to meet necessary conditions were impounded by police teams and removed from traffic. The connection of these vehicles with the roads was severed, and precautions were not spared to prevent possible accidents.
The motorcycles impounded from traffic were taken to the impound lot with the help of private tow trucks pursuant to official procedures and held there under protection. It was announced that vehicle owners could regain possession of their motorcycles after completing necessary document and penalty processes and fulfilling legal conditions. Mudurnu District Police Department officials emphasized that inspections would continue uninterrupted and decisively to ensure peace and security throughout the district and called on citizens to be sensitive.
It was stated that the main purpose of such applications is not just to issue fines, but to prevent traffic accidents and protect the lives of citizens. Warnings were issued especially for motorcycle riders to be more careful about wearing helmets, obeying speed limits, and avoiding behaviors that cause noise pollution. Security forces expressed that traffic inspections would continue routinely and as shock applications for Mudurnu to maintain a peaceful and safe living environment.
