NANS calls on TETFund to improve digital infrastructure of Osun State Polytechnic.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has made an official call to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to modernize the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) infrastructure of Osun State Polytechnic in the town of Iree, Osun State, aiming to increase the quality of education.

Student representatives emphasized that the school's current technological equipment falls far short of meeting current digital education standards, creating serious obstacles for students' academic development, and requested that authorities prepare an urgent action plan.

The statement highlighted that increasing disruptions in computer-based examinations and online learning processes were the primary factor deepening the student body's concerns, noting that the transfer of funds to address these deficiencies is of critical importance.

The NANS leadership highlighted that educational institutions need to be strengthened not only with physical structures but also with technological infrastructure, arguing that TETFund should play a pioneering role in the transformation process of higher education institutions in Nigeria.

This demand found wide resonance due to similar technological deficiencies in other educational institutions across Nigeria, and the highlighting of Osun State Polytechnic brought along discussions regarding the need for a general review and strengthening of ICT infrastructure in universities and polytechnics countrywide.
