Person going home in Şanlıurfa subjected to armed attack: 1 heavily injured

In the Haliliye district of Şanlıurfa, an armed attack occurred late at night that disturbed the peace and caused anxiety. According to initial information obtained, the incident took place as an individual approached the entrance of a residence, causing shock. Ahmet B., a citizen heading towards the apartment entrance to go home, was targeted by an unidentified person encountered there unexpectedly. The assailant realized the attack by firing at the victim, whom he had immobilized by approaching, and fled the scene shortly after, disappearing. As a result of the gunfire, Ahmet B. was seriously injured by bullets hitting various parts of his body and collapsed to the ground.

The realization of the situation by surrounding citizens upon hearing the gunfire and ensuing screams was the first step in reporting the incident. Following the notification of the situation by neighborhood residents to the 112 Emergency Call Center, health teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. The ambulance and medical personnel arriving at the scene performed the first intervention on the injured person found collapsed on the ground and began efforts to transport him to the hospital. It was learned that while Ahmet B. was being transported to the hospital by ambulance, his health condition remained critical and his life was in danger. The injured citizen was delivered to the nearest health facility for treatment after the intervention by the 112 Emergency Service teams.

Security cameras located at or around the apartment entrance where the incident occurred clearly recorded the moment of the attack. In the security camera footage, details emerged showing that the suspect waited for Ahmet B. and then fired and fled. In the footage, the suspect is seen leaving the crime scene immediately after firing his weapon and hiding in a panic. These images serve as important evidence in the work of police teams and in determining the identity of the suspect.

Following the examinations at the scene, the public order and homicide bureau teams attached to the Şanlıurfa Police Department launched a large-scale operation to catch the perpetrator of the attack. Police teams examined security cameras in the area to determine the assailant's escape route and to obtain witness statements.
