Chain-reaction accident on Silivri TEM Otoyolu: 5 people injured

According to obtained information, at around 17.00 in the evening, a traffic accident occurred that made drivers experience difficult moments on the TEM Otoyolu in the Büyükçekmece direction at the Silivri Büyükçavuşlu location. Traffic came to a standstill as a result of three vehicles traveling in the same direction colliding with each other in a chain-reaction manner for a reason that has not yet been determined. Following the accident, upon the notification of citizens in the vicinity, a large number of fire, emergency health, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.

Security forces arriving at the scene began to manage the traffic flow in a controlled manner to prevent the chaos caused by the accident and to prevent transportation from being disrupted. In detailed examinations carried out at the scene by health teams, it was determined that a total of 5 people were injured in the accident, and their first interventions were performed regarding whether they had life-threatening conditions. The injured individuals were carried to the ambulances waiting at the scene on stretchers and were taken to the nearest health institution for treatment.

The process of removing the vehicles involved in the accident and left on the road with tow trucks was initiated for traffic to return to normal. After the road was cleared of vehicles, thanks to the intense work of the police and gendarmerie teams, the road was reopened for use by other drivers and traffic flow returned to its former state. Regarding the accident, an official investigation and inquiry process was initiated by the gendarmerie to determine exactly how the event occurred and the responsibilities.

In statements made from officials, it was shared that the traffic in the region returned to normal, but the work on the cause of the accident continues. Chain-reaction traffic accidents, especially in areas with heavy traffic such as highways, usually occur due to reasons such as excessive speed, violation of following distance, or carelessness. In such events, the coordinated work of rapid response teams is of great importance to minimize loss of life.

During the panic experienced at the time of the accident, the call for help from those around and the intervention of the 112 emergency call centers ensured the dispatch of teams to the scene. Traffic teams took security measures in the section where the accident occurred, creating a wide security strip to prevent other drivers from causing a second accident or congestion while passing through the accident area. No official statement has yet been made from hospital sources regarding the severity of the health status of the injured, but it has been reported that all cases are kept under observation.
